On 31 May 2014, DreamTeam competed in a dancing competition called Kratingdaeng Power Dance 2014 in the Bandung region. It was a great success and we were able to take the runner up position! All our hardworks was paid off. BUT, our journey does not end there! It was only the first selection. We still have to compete in November and that will be the time we'll meet other contestants from all over Indonesia. If I haven't mentioned it before, Kratingdaeng Power Dance is a national dance competition in Indonesia. Wish us luck! We're trying our best and working really hard! XOXO. Hello beautiful people! :)
I know it has been a while since the last time i posted anything on this blog, but i come back to share a little about my experience as a dancer so far. It has been an amazing experience! To be able to share the stage with all of these amazing girls, to be able to learn from the greatest dancing coach, all the joyful tears, hardwork, happiness basically all the ups and downs have been such a blessing to me. We won second place on Kratingdaeng Power Dance 2014 Bandung Region! I am so happy and very grateful for all that I have. Dance has save my life! None of you probably know that at first, I was planning to leave to Netherlands for university. I was offered several scholarships and was offered amazing opportunities to study in the Netherland. However, I had to reject their offers with a heavy heart due to certain family reasons. I had a really hard time trying to accept the fact that I won't be going to Netherlands for university. But through all the help I get from my friends and realising that everything must happened for a reason and letting go as well as keep moving forward had made me a better person. AND hopefully, I will be able to fulfil my dream of studying abroad sooner than I think it would be! I won't stop praying and working hard to reach all of my dreams!! It has been an amazing life experience and without dancing and all the support, I won't make it this far. So, people KEEP MOVING FORWARD! Comment, like and subscribe if you any of you guys enjoyed watching! <3 Hello everyone! Here's another highlight of a dance flashmob I did in Hotel Mulia. It was a lot of fun and in total, 11 dancers were involved. I did not knew who got married but it was a lot of fun to put a smile on other people's faces :) LONG LIVE DANCERS <3
Hello world! This post takes us back to 31 March 2013 when I was still in 11th grade. Back then, my Bahasa Indonesia class had to perform a theatre performance at Sekolah High Scope Indonesia. My team and I performed a musical theatre called “Si Putih dan Si Merah” which means “The White and The Red”. It is a story about a girl named Putih. Her father remarried a woman that has a daughter named Merah. What the father did not know was that the woman married him only to gain his wealth. Not long after that, Putih’s father passed away because the stepmother secretly poisoned him. Putih had to live with her stepmother and stepsister. Both Merah and the stepmother treated Putih like a maid. Putih took an advice from her close friend, Bombay and decided to run away together. However, on their journey to find peace and safety, they met an old lady that gave Putih a cake. The cake was filled with a love spell. The old lady turned out to be working with a corrupter that had a hobby of marrying rich women to gain money and wealth. Putih was under a love spell and fell in love with the corrupter. Bombay saved her from being fooled and finally confessed his love to Putih. Merah who did not know that the man who she thought was a prince turned out to that corrupter. So, Merah and the stepmother ended up being poor and Putih and Bombay lived happily ever after. BUT, that it was not the end of the story. Everything turned out to be a dream! Putih and Merah are twin sisters who were asleep. Putih and Merah woke up and realized it was all just a dream. They had a habit of arguing and fighting. The dream helped them to forgive each other and to make up for each other. Every team in my Bahasa Indonesia class had to create a theatre performance based on legend from Indonesia. Our team decided to create a musical theatre based on “Bawang Merah dan Bawang Putih” legend. Almost everyone had their own roles on stage and back stage but there were also others who worked only on the back stage. Hani, my friend, Fia and I were in charge of writing the script. Hani and I were also in charge of making choreography for the performance. The musical theatre was organized in Indonesian since it was a Bahasa Indonesia class after all. The theme for this musical performance was drama, romance with a little action in it. Some people in our team had martial arts experience, so we decided to put a little action in our musical theater to spice up our performance. I love how everyone was very supportive toward creating a great performance and they were also fun to work together with. We were able to perform our best and entertained the audience! It was an amazing experience! P.S: I played the role of Si Putih. So, I was the heroine of the performance! :) In 25 August 2013, The School of Movement performed a dance piece for Dahsyat in RCTI TV Station. Ms. Inu choreographed this beautiful piece. In total there were 7 dancers including me. The whole routine took about 3 minutes. It was a very hot day but I had so much fun dancing. It was an unforgettable experience. So enjoy! Hello beautiful people out there! Here are some clips of what i did for a musical theatre called Kira's Song by Gigi Art of Dance in 2012. This musical theatre was supported WWF. Let me tell you a little about the plot of Kira's Song, Kira is a lively young girl who lives in a village. Kira is not like any other girls in the village. She does not hang out with girls around the village. Kira spends most of her time with her friends, the animals. One night when the animals are asleep, the hunters called Jok-Jok and Juk-Juk (I was Jok-Jok and my twin sister, Hani was Juk-Juk) and their Boss kidnap those poor animals. The hunters and the Boss will sell these poor animals to a Ringmaster of a circus. Kira found out that the animals are missing and she goes on a quest to help those poor animals. She goes on the quest with a help of a boy named Rol. At the end, Kira is able to catch that mean Ringmaster along with those two hunters and their Boss. The animals are finally saved from being treated badly. The message that Kira's Song tried to convey is to stop abusing animals! All of those endangered animals have feelings too! They are hurt if you keep abusing them. SO, people STOP ANIMAL ABUSE! In this theatrical theatre I was cast as Jok-Jok, she is one of the hunters. I was playing an antagonist character. Although I must say, the character that I was chosen for was kinda silly. She was mean but stupid, all she cares about is to make her Boss proud. She did not realize that she was hurting those poor animals. But she learned her lesson at the end of the show. Ms. Gigi created this musical theatre with the help of her friend, Gloria (Acting coach) and the other crew members. The show was mostly filled with different types of dance. There was Contemporary dance, Hip-Hop dance, Jazz Ballet dance, Traditional dance, and many more. I had so much fun being a part of such amazing people who share the same passion that I do. There were all very supportive and friendly. I had a blast! I even miss being on the stage performing to this play. I learned so much and experienced amazing moments. So, people I hope you enjoy the clips of the show and a clip of our photo shoot for the show! try to spot me (i'm the one in red pants!) :) Last week on Saturday, 21 December 2013, The Escapers went to Mall Artha Gading to compete in a Hip-Hop Dance Competition by B'Talent Studio. We had been practicing to get ourselves ready for the competition. It was actually the first for all of us to be competing in a competition apart from school cups. The competition was supposed to start at 4 pm and we were told to come at 3 pm. But considering that we would be doing our make up and change clothes in the venue, we decided to come earlier. We arrived in Mall Artha Gading at around 1 o'clock. We decided to sit in a donut cafe called J.Co and we did our make up there. While we were doing our make up, my mom bought us thai ice teas. We were not feeling nervous. As the clock pointed on 3 pm, I told Ara and Karisha to re-register our names for the competition. Then, Ara and Karisha went to re-register our names. Moving on, the competition had to start late. The competition ended up starting at around 6. We were chosen to start first. As it was getting closer to our turn to dance, we all got very nervous. When we got up on stage, the feeling was overwhelming. I felt really nervous and confident at the same time. I could hear our song playing. I was thinking, "It is not the time to feel nervous, just dance and enjoy it". I was dancing with all the power I have. I poured my heart out and enjoyed every second of it. Afterwards, it was time for other dancers to compete. They were all really good and they were probably around 25. We were one of two groups who were 17 years old. Then, it was finally time to announce the winners! All the contestants went up the stage. We were super nervous! Fortunately, we won second place! It was kind of annoying since we were so close to getting first place but we were so happy that we got second place. What made it more happy was that we were able to prove ourselves that we did great. In order to sum up the day, let me tell you a little something. Based on the experience I went through, I learned a lesson that every hard works will be paid off later eventually. So, all of you beautiful people! Never give up on everything that matters to you! In my case, dancing is one of many things that matter to me. Have a good day everyone! Hello lovely people! :) I am not a professional dancer but i really love dancing. In April 2013, i started taking dance classes in The School of Movement. I have so much fun and learned a lot. I met my dance teacher, Ms. Inu back when i was still in Gigi Art of Dance. She is so talented, professional, and very friendly. I started to take dance lesson in The School of Movement because of her. I knew that i can learn a lot about dancing and hip-hop from her. The video shown above is my first performance with The School of movement. This was a performance that was held on 20 of July 2013 for iMove3. Just a little info, iMove is an annual showcase by various numbers of dancer choreographed by indonesian choreographers. I was so lucky that i get the chance to be one of the dancers in iMove3 for the Opening number together with The School of Movement. The dance was choreographed by Ms. Inu with the help from other professional dancers (Ms. Raisa, Kak Dicky, Kak Mario, Kak Nanda). This routine combines different types of dance. Tango, contemporary, hip-hop and B-boy are all included. This routine brought 22 dancers together. We had hours and days of practicing. We goofed and joked around when we had our breaks. All of these people i met because of this performance were all talented and really friendly. I am so blessed to meet so many friendly people. I had a bunch of fun preparing and performing this dance piece. Hopefully, all of you beautiful people enjoy watching it as much as i enjoy doing it. Enjoy! This is a little project we did during the weekend last week. My friends, Ara and Karisha and also my twin sister, Hani and I are members of the dance club in school. We started our crew in the beginning of 2013. We all love dancing. This project was created because one night i was on youtube and i came across this video that said #CokeREDMoves so then i opened their website (www.cokeredmoves.com). This movement was created by Coca-cola and Red to raise awareness toward eliminating mother to child transmission of HIV by hopefully 2015. I thought it would be a fun project to do and it is so exciting to know that i can help to support people in need through doing what i love to do (in this case, dancing). I talked to my twin sister and all the other dancers in our crew about making it. We all agree and were looking forward to do it. On the next day, my twin sister and i started to create the choreography. Quickly after that day, my twin sister and i taught them the choreography and we shot the choreography with the help of Ara's boyfriend, Ali. After we are finished shooting, Hani and i edited all the footages and made it into one completed video. SO, here it is! ENJOY! and do not forget, DANCE!
